In today’s life junk foods are very appealing because of two “T”s: Time & Taste.
These are easy to prepare and most of them are available in market as ready to eat. Secondly, they have great taste as well. On top of these two factors, the third motivating factor is the advertising done by junk food vendors.

Side effects of junk foods

Let’s have a quick look of other side of the coin. Do your know how harmful are these junk foods? Here is a list of few good reasons to cut down the intake of junk foods:

Junk foods contain much of sugar. So, eating junk food can make you prone to diabetes. You can also become susceptible to heart disease and blood pressure because of the salt and high fats found in this kind of food.
Junk food makes you put on weight. Generally, people who have obesity or morbid obesity are those who have a preference for junk food and snacking.
Packed junk food contains preservatives and colouring, both of which contain carcinogenic substances which are harmful for your body system specially cardiovascular system.
Junk food is made using a lot of saturated fats. Such fats are unhealthy and on digestion can release a lot of toxins into your body. You body gets food but not healthy food.
Junk foods also fastens the effects of aging. Continuous eating of junk food exposes the body to long periods of bad nutrition. The result is release of free radicals which are the chief factors responsible for aging effect.
Junk food is sometime made using ingredients that are not very clean. This can in the long run spoil your stomach, liver and intestines.
Most of the junk foods does not contain vitamins and minerals and much of the nutrients seen in properly cooked food and in raw food. The body is not getting the necessary vitamins and minerals necessary to have good health and immunity from diseases. Consequently, it makes the person having such food very prone to illnesses.
In short summary, I can conclude that excessive intake of junk foods can lead to
Lack of Energy
Poor Concentration
Heart Diseases
High Cholesterol
Our bodies have enough stamina to take care off occasional junk food eating. But, the lure is strong enough to get you addicted.

"TOP 5 CANCER CAUSING FOODS"

Cancer is a disease that can be caused by hereditary and environmental factors. While some people develop cancer regardless of steps taken to prevent it, there is evidence that limiting the consumption of some foods could prevent or delay the onset of cancer, especially for those with a known family history of cancers of the digestive system. Cancer-promoting foods are typically rich in refined sugars, processed carbohydrates, preservatives and byproducts of deep-frying. Many of these foods also have harmful effects on health in general, effecting the cardiovascular, nervous and reproductive systems. These cancer-causing foods can contribute to the development of diabetes, obesity and heart disease.
Sweetened Beverages

Food sources high in refined sugars such as sweetened beverages, sodas and many juices can increase cancer risk. A 2010 study in the journal "Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention" shows that individuals who consume two or more servings of soda per week have an 87 percent higher chance of developing pancreatic cancer compared to individuals who do not consume soft drinks. Other studies have shown links between sugar consumption and cancers of the stomach and colon. While sugar itself does not directly turn healthy cells into cancer, it is the preferred food source for cancerous cells and helps to promote tumor growth during the tumor formation process. Over time, a heavy sugar intake can also increase overall metabolic output of cells, increasing the amount of oxidative byproducts that are produced and released into their environment.

Fried Potatoes

Fried foods increase one's risk of developing cancer, especially when they contain hydrogenated oils, trans-fats, and a byproduct of the deep-frying process called acrylamide. Acrylamide is a well- known tumor causing agent and also a potent neurotoxin, having adverse effects not only on the brain, but on the reproductive system as well. High carbohydrate foods such as potatoes readily produce acrylamide during the frying process. This places many fried potato products such as french fries, tater tots, potato chips and hash browns high on the list of cancer-causing foods.

Doughnuts

Doughnuts are the culmination of three major classes of cancer causing foods; they are deep-fried, contain high levels of sugars and are based on heavily refined carbohydrates. The combination of by-products from the frying process together with heavy amounts of sugar and processed flour make doughnuts particularly risky to those hoping to reduce cancer risk.

Hot dogs

Preserved, cured or pickled meats are a known risk factor in stomach cancer and other malignancies of the digestive system. Such meats are even more dangerous when ingredients such as sodium nitrate, a key preservative in hot dogs and other meat products is added into the mix. Hot dogs and other preserved, salted meats such as bacon or bologna should be consumed in moderation or avoided, especially for those at risk for stomach cancer.

Burned Meats

When organic plant or animal matter is burned, a number of toxic, mutagenic by-products are formed. Many of these by-products are exactly the same as those produced in the burning of tobacco that accounts for the toxic and cancer promoting effects of cigarettes. According to the National Cancer Institute, cancers of the colon, stomach and other digestive system malignancies are associated with high intake of charred or burned meats. While this effect has not yet been rigorously established for other burned foods such as burnt toast, the same effect is possible.

Ano ang Sanhi ng Sakit na Denge?

Ang dengue kagat ng lamok especially during 9-2pm

ung mga female dengue mosquitoes
also called as H-fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever
usually nakamamatay kapag hinde napigilan.

Iba't ibang kasagutan:

2. Mahirap itong hulihin, mabilis lumipad and darting back and forth

BLOOD PRESSURE CHAT

Use the blood pressure chart below to see what your blood pressure means. The blood pressure chart is suitable for adults of any age. (The level for high blood pressure does not change with age.)

Blood pressure readings have two numbers, for example 140/90.

The top number is your systolic blood pressure. (The highest pressure when your heart beats and pushes the blood round your body.) The bottom one is your diastolic blood pressure. (The lowest pressure when your heart relaxes between beats.)

The blood pressure chart below shows ranges of high, low and healthy blood pressure readings.

Using this blood pressure chart: To work out what your blood pressure readings mean, just find your top number (systolic) on the left side of the blood pressure chart and read across, and your bottom number (diastolic) on the bottom of the blood pressure chart. Where the two meet is your blood pressure.

What blood pressure readings mean

As you can see from the blood pressure chart, only one of the numbers has to be higher or lower than it should be to count as either high blood pressure or low blood pressure:

• 90 over 60 (90/60) or less: You may have low blood pressure. More on low blood pressure.
• More than 90 over 60 (90/60) and less than 120 over 80 (120/80): Your blood pressure reading is ideal and healthy. Follow a healthy lifestyle to keep it at this level.
• More than 120 over 80 and less than 140 over 90 (120/80-140/90): You have a normal blood pressure reading but it is a little higher than it should be, and you should try to lower it. Make healthy changes to your lifestyle.
• 140 over 90 (140/90) or higher (over a number of weeks): You may have high blood pressure (hypertension). Change your lifestyle - see your doctor or nurse and take any medicines they may give you. More on high blood pressure

So:

• if your top number is 140 or more - then you may have high blood pressure, regardless of your bottom number.
• if your bottom number is 90 or more - then you may have high blood pressure, regardless your top number.
• if your top number is 90 or less - then you may have low blood pressure, regardless of your bottom number.
• if your bottom number is 60 or less - then you may have low blood pressure, regardless of your top number.

POISON ALERT!!

Are you a Mountain Dew addict? Then know what you're drinking! BVO is a toxic chemical that is banned in many countries because it competes with iodine for receptor sites in the body, which can lead to hypothyroidism, autoimmune disease, and cancer. The main ingredient, bromine, is a poisonous, corrosive chemical, linked to major organ system damage, birth defects, growth problems, schizophrenia, and hearing loss.

"There’s flame retardant in your Mountain Dew. That soda with the lime-green hue (and other citrus-flavored bubbly pops) won’t keep your insides fireproof, but it does contain brominated vegetable oil, a patented flame retardant for plastics that has been banned in foods throughout Europe and in Japan.

Brominated vegetable oil, or BVO, which acts as an emulsifier in citrus-flavored soda drinks, is found in about 10 percent of sodas sold in the U.S.

“After a few extreme soda binges — not too far from what many [video] gamers regularly consume – a few patients have needed medical attention for skin lesions, memory loss and nerve disorders, all symptoms of overexposure to bromine,” according to a recent article in Environmental News."

Green Potato: are very dangerous for health, Strictly Avoid This!

Potatoes are uses as a primary ingredient in many dishes. Do you know about green potatoes? These green potatoes are green due to high amount of chlorophyll .But food lovers, that green potatoes are very dangerous for health.
The scientific researches are say that green potatoes have high amount of a poisonous chemical called solanine that can lead to nausea, headaches diarrhea, vomiting & many other ailments, if it is consumed by fault.
The green colour of a potato is mainly due to high amount of chlorophyll, which is basically not harmful for health. But in fact it is a signal that the amount of solanine, which is manufactured at that time when the chlorophyll is also produced, has raised too.
A current report is presented by Alexander Pavlista, who is a professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincon. In the report it was told that — a 100 pound man would have to consume nearly 16 ounces of a totally green potato to fell ill.
It was noticed that the green potatoes were never send to the market for sale. And to prevent the production of solanine, it is always suggested that potatoes should be stored in cool and dim light places, remove the green areas before its consumption.

If the taste of the green potato — is found to be bitter, than don’t consume it. This green diet would prove to be harmful so just avoid it.

DIYETA SA DIABETES

by Dr. Willie T. Ong

4. Mansanas at peras ang pang-diyeta na prutas.

Akala nang marami ay “all you can eat” ang mga prutas. Mali!

WHAT YOUR NAILS SAY ABOUT YOUR HEALTH
by Bernard Buachi

Did you know your nails can reveal clues to your overall health? A touch of white here, a rosy tinge there, or some rippling or bumps may be a sign of disease in the body. Problems in the liver, lungs, and heart can show up in your nails. Keep reading to learn what secrets your nails might reveal.

1. Pale Nails
Very pale nails can sometimes be a sign of serious illness, such as:
Anemia, Congestive heart failure, Liver disease or Malnutrition.

2. White Nails
If the nails are mostly white with darker rims, this can indicate liver problems, such as hepatitis. On the image, you can see the fingers are also jaundiced, another sign of liver trouble.

3. Yellow Nails
One of the most common causes of yellow nails is a fungal infection. As the infection worsens, the nail bed may retract, and nails may thicken and crumble. In rare cases, yellow nails can indicate a more serious condition such as severe thyroid disease, lung disease, diabetes or psoriasis.

4. Bluish Nails
Nails with a bluish tint can mean the body isn’t getting enough oxygen. This could indicate an infection in the lungs, such as pneumonia. Some heart problems can be associated with bluish nails.

5. Rippled Nails
If the nail surface is rippled or pitted, this may be an early sign of psoriasis or inflammatory arthritis. Discoloration of the nail is common; the skin under the nail can seem reddish-brown.

6. Cracked or Split Nails
Dry, brittle nails that frequently crack or split have been linked to thyroid disease. Cracking or splitting combined with a yellowish hue is more likely due to a fungal infection.

7. Puffy Nail Fold
If the skin around the nail appears red and puffy, this is known as inflammation of the nail fold. It may be the result of lupus or another connective tissue disorder. Infection can also cause redness and inflammation of the nail fold.

8. Dark Lines Beneath the Nail
Dark lines beneath the nail should be investigated as soon as possible. They are sometimes caused by melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer.

9. Gnawed Nails
Biting your nails may be nothing more than an old habit, but in some cases it’s a sign of persistent anxiety that could benefit from treatment. Nail biting or picking has also been linked to obsessive-compulsive disorder. If you can’t stop, it’s worth discussing with your doctor.

Nails Are Only Part of the Puzzle

Though nail changes accompany many conditions, these changes are rarely the first sign. And many nail abnormalities are harmless — not everyone with white nails has hepatitis. If you’re concerned about the appearance of your nails, see a dermatologist.
